Winter is still here

Weird white stuff falling from the sky seems to be happening more often lately. First we had a Hail Storm on Thursday which lasted for almost an hour and accumulated enough that in the picture I took it looks looks like snow. I really should have taken a closeup so that you could see the tiny, and not so tiny, balls of ice that make up those snow drifts. Was quite odd driving through a blizzard of hail, and then later that night hearing thunder followed by the ping and thud of hail instead of the steady rhythm of rain.

Now there is actual fluffy snow falling, if it sticks I'll take another picture. I knew it was cold this morning when I bundled Son into his winter jacket, but I really wasn't expecting to see snow. The weather man so rarely gets the predictions right that I really didn't believe him today, I thought it would warm up and we would have rain instead. Oh well, the kids will enjoy it during their breaks from class today. :)

Great Day

I had a wonderfully relaxing day today. The weather was warm and sunny, a great change after the *Snow* that arrived on April 1st!

I woke up at 10am and read until about 12pm, Hubby was kind enough to keep Son occupied for the morning. I am very lucky to have him! I got to wrangled the kid to eat as much of his lunch as I could persuade him to. Then I convinced Son that he had to get dressed if he wanted go out for a bike ride. We went for a 45 min. bike ride, well he rode and I ran behind him. We then headed home so that he could rest for a bit before his swimming lesson. This gave us a delightfully sleepy boy who should stay sleeping this nite. Of course plans don't always work out, Son has been up 3 times since we put him down. It's been over an hour since the last time he got up so perhaps will stay sleeping now.

Hubby and I have been watching "Inkheart," it is always interesting to see how the movie makers change the story from what it was in the book. There are quite a few changes, where did all those flying monkeys come from anyway? Over all it seems like they stayed true to the key points and the 'feel' of the story. I will be keeping an eye out for Inkspell and Inkdeath when they come to the theater.

Wacky Weather

Ok, so the last time I checked it was March, and the end of March at that. Sooooo, where is all this snow coming from? I mean, I live on the West Coast of BC, Canada. We are famous for lots of rain this time of year, it gives us green grass and flowers when the rest of the country is digging themselves out and looking forward to a thaw. We are *not* use to snow this time of year at all!!!

Yesterday we had a lovely range of weather, it started out cloudy, the sun came out for a while, it snowed up a storm, then cleared up again. I got caught in some hail with my son around 6pm after grocery shopping, and the sun was shining brightly by the time we got home. Today it is snowing again, nice big fluffy flakes which are actually starting to stick to the ground and covering up our grass and bushes.*Sigh* I think the Weather Wardens in my area are on strike, or just having too much fun lately.
